Ain't it Grand to be Blooming Well Dead was an English music hall song written by Leslie Sarony in 1932 - The Clancy Brothers and Tommy Makem added a chorus and modified it for an American folk music revival audience.
This was a favorite of Barney Loughlin and we played it for him often.

Isn't it grand, boys, to be bloody-well dead?

And always remember: The longer you live
    The sooner you'll bloody-well die )

Isn't it grand, boys, to be bloody-well dead?

    Chorus

Look at the mourners, bloody-great hypocrites
Isn't it grand, boys, to be bloody-well dead?

Look at the preacher, a bloody-nice fellow
Isn't it grand, boys, to be bloody-well dead?

    Chorus

Look at the widow, bloody-great female
Isn't it grand, boys, to be bloody-well dead?
